Camels live in the deserts of Africa and Asia. All camels have one or two humps. Camels’ humps consist of stored fat. Camels are herbivores, which means that they do not eat meat. They eat a lot of leaves, thorns and bushes.

Camels can go without water for a long time. Filling up on water, when its available, is very important for camels. They can drink 30 gallons of water in just 13 minutes! Camels like to stay together in groups called herds. They are very social and like to greet each other by blowing in each other’s faces.
